Why we built LaunchBiz

The problem

A business plan is something most founders will need to produce a handful of times over the life of a company. Once at launch. Once when raising a round. Maybe again for a bank loan or major strategic pivot. For a tool used that intermittently, subscription pricing is user-hostile by design. Most founders let subscriptions lapse, then re-subscribe when they need the tool again — paying full monthly price for 2-3 months instead of a reasonable one-time fee.

The other problem: most tools stop at templates. A fill-in-the-blank template is not meaningfully better than a Google Doc with headings. The real work — market research, competitive analysis, financial projections, strategic frameworks like SWOT and Porter's Five Forces — still falls on the founder. Founders who've never written these sections before spend hours or days on each, often producing weak output because they don't know what "good" looks like.

Who builds LaunchBiz

LaunchBiz is a product of Mentis Vision, a business intelligence platform for founders, coaches, and leaders. Mentis Vision provides CRM, sales pipeline, financial tracking, content creation, and strategic planning tools for established businesses. LaunchBiz is the piece of the Mentis Vision stack focused specifically on going from idea to launch — priced and packaged for first-time founders who don't yet need a full business operations platform.

The same core team builds both products. Infrastructure, research data, and AI capabilities are shared. Founders who outgrow LaunchBiz and need full CRM, marketing automation, and financial management can move to Mentis Vision without re-entering their business data.

Our pricing philosophy

One-time, per company, $19.90. No subscription, no recurring charges, no "starter" tier that hides the features you actually need.

This is the pricing model we believe is right for this category. Not because it's clever marketing, but because it matches how the product is actually used. A tool used heavily for 2-3 months and then occasionally thereafter should not cost more over 5 years than a used car. Subscription pricing on this category of tool exists because it captures more revenue from individual users, not because it produces better product outcomes.

If you build multiple businesses, each new company is another $19.90. We charge per business because the economics of AI inference and market research do scale with usage — but we cap it at a reasonable one-time fee per venture rather than making you pay monthly for the rest of your life.

What we don't do

LaunchBiz is not a full CRM. It's not an accounting platform. It's not an email marketing tool or a customer service platform. If you need those, you need a different tool (or Mentis Vision once you've outgrown the startup stage).

LaunchBiz does one job: get you from "I have an idea" to "I have a complete business plan and pitch deck I'm willing to show investors or lenders." Everything inside the product supports that single workflow.
